The Tennessee Highway Patrol investigated a pair of serious crashes in the Lakeway Area last week.
On Saturday, a 17-year-old juvenile driver was injured in a single-vehicle crash in Grainger County.
According to a preliminary report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, around 12:56 p.m., Saturday, a 2004 Ford Expedition, driven by a 17-year-old juvenile, was traveling northbound on Lakeshore Drive near Sam Helm Road in Grainger County.
The Expedition attempted to negotiate a curve and ran off the right side of the roadway, striking a tree and rolled over coming to a final rest.
The juvenile was wearing a seat belt according to the report.
No charges have been filed in the ongoing investigation.
On Thursday, a motorcycle crash claimed the lives of two men on Wilson Hale Road.
According to a report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, at 8:35 a.m., Thursday, a 2024 Kawasaki EX5, driven by Tyler B. Ridley, 20, was traveling northbound on Wilson Hale Road negotiating a left-hand curve.
The motorcycle crossed the road and struck a guardrail with Ridley, and passenger Dakota D. Phillips, 21, being thrown from the motorcycle before coming to rest in the roadway. Both men were killed instantly and were not wearing helmets.
